Hello Everyone and Welcome to our 2008 Newsletter.
2007 was a very busy time on the Island with lots of exciting events ranging from Walking and Cycling Festivals, Music Festivals and of course the world famous Sailing Festival known as Cowes Week. All these events and others will be running in 2008 and details can be found at the end of this Newsletter.
Enclosed with this Newsletter are our 2008 Tariffs. Our Site Only Tariff is for those of you who wish to book your own ferry and our Package Tariffs are for those of you who wish us to take care of the ferry booking for you.
If you are thinking of booking your own ferry and belong to one of the clubs (Caravan or Camping and Caravanning) it is worth checking with them to see what discounts are available. Quite a few of our guests used their Tesco Vouchers to obtain discounts on Wightlink Ferries in 2007 and hopefully will be able to do so again in 2008.
Red Funnel have made some changes to their pricing structure for 2008 and as a result we have had to introduce a supplement for those whose holiday starts in mid season (up to 16 July) but ends in high season (from 17 July). This supplement will therefore apply to some people returning from Cowes to Southampton.
In 2007 we have continued up-grading our facilities and our wireless hotspot has now been improved and covers virtually the whole Park. We do not charge for this facility but we are happy to receive donations for the Island's Hospice in lieu of a charge.
Just a reminder that 55 of our pitches now have their own water tap on pitch and one of these can be reserved (if available) for an extra cost of just £1.00 per night.
Satellite navigation systems continue to grow in popularity and are very useful tools for finding your way around however we would recommend that you use our directions from the ferry ports rather than your GPS.
The winners of our 2007 quiz about Island place names were Mr & Mrs J Lockley and they won a £25 Gift Voucher. The quiz, late stay donations and donations for using our wireless hotspot have resulted in a massive donation of £750 to the Isle of Wight Hospice. Thank you very much to all of you that made a donation.
Do not forget if you have any special requirements when booking please let us know so that we can try and accommodate them.
If you have never visited us before and would like to learn more about us please have a look at our website www.southland.co.uk where you will find a wealth of information about us and the Island.
